If you thought navigating the crypto market was tough, wait until you try keeping a burger truck on the road in Goblintown’s latest project. The Ethereum NFT brand just revealed Goblintown: Really Hard Driving Game. It is a physics-based, soul-crushingly difficult driving game set to launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The game, which drops in the next 60-90 days, is a “foddian” challenge, a genre known for its rage-inducing mechanics. Think Getting Over It or Only Up. In other words, expect cliffs, impossible jumps, and a whole lot of frustration.
As the game’s debut trailer puts it: “It’s really hard, by the way. Honestly, it’s incredibly hard.”
Even the developers’ moms can’t handle it.
Web3 Roots, Web2 Gameplay
Despite Goblintown’s Ethereum NFT origins, the game itself won’t feature crypto or NFTs. While the Epic Games Store allows blockchain games, Steam has banned them since 2021. Some developers have found workarounds, but Goblintown’s creators are keeping it simple. This is a pure Web2 game with Web3-inspired lore. “The game is a straight Web2 game using our IP and world,” said Truth Labs CEO Alexander Taub.

But that doesn’t mean Goblintown is leaving Ethereum gaming behind. The game will have ties to Abstract, the new Ethereum layer-2 network built by Pudgy Penguins’ parent company, Igloo Inc. Details on exactly how remain under wraps, but Taub hinted that streaming will play a major role. “Abstract has a big focus on streaming, and we think our game will be one of the most fun games to stream in 2025,” Taub said.
Goblintown’s History with Steam
This isn’t Goblintown’s first run-in with Steam’s marketplace. In 2023, their open-source NFT artwork (licensed under Creative Commons 0) found its way into Only Up, which is a viral game that featured Goblintown’s chaotic aesthetic. But the indie developer later removed it, saying the project had caused them months of stress.

Now, Goblintown is back. This time on its own terms. And with a burger truck, a brutal difficulty curve, and a strong dose of Web3 weirdness, Really Hard Driving Game could be one of 2025’s most frustratingly addictive games.
Meanwhile, the Goblintown NFT collection is up nearly 20% in the last 24 hours, hitting $573, according to NFT Price Floor. Whether that’s hype for the game or just another Goblintown-style market prank – we’ll have to wait and see.
