In a recent update, the team behind the popular Telegram-based tap-to-earn game, MemeFi, has announced another delay in its token airdrop and Sui token launch. The postponement moves the final player activity snapshot further down the timeline as the team tackles final preparations.
Delayed Airdrop
According to a post in the MemeFi Telegram community, the delay stems from “developer and legal” requirements that still need completion to finalize the token listing. Initially set for an October 9 release, the launch was first postponed to November 12 and now sees a further extension.
MemeFi allows players to engage in tap-to-earn gameplay, defeating enemies inspired by internet memes and accumulating in-game coins. These coins are crucial for players aiming to maximize their share in the upcoming token airdrop. Late Tuesday, MemeFi’s team confirmed that its token is set to debut on OKX on November 22, with the final snapshot date now moved to November 15. This adjustment gives players additional time to engage in the game and boost their eligibility for token rewards.
“The 10-day shift is necessary as we complete preparations on both the development and legal fronts,” the team shared, reassuring the community that this revised schedule is final.
Initially planned for an Ethereum layer-2 network, the MemeFi team surprised the community on October 25 by announcing a switch to the layer-1 Sui network for its token launch, further adjusting the launch date to November 12. So far, OKX is the sole exchange confirmed to list the MemeFi token, with potential announcements regarding other exchanges expected soon.
