The NFT-centric creative initiative Doodles revealed on Thursday plans for a new animated feature titled “Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” which will showcase the talents of esteemed artists Pharrell Williams, Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, and Coi Leray.
Set to be crafted by the seasoned animators at Golden Wolf, a studio recently brought under Doodles’ wing in January 2023, the animation will be brought to life under the direction of Doodles co-founder and renowned illustrator, Scott “Burnt Toast” Martin.

Described as a pioneering blend of animation and musical artistry, the movie is set to integrate original music by Williams, who took on the role of Chief Brand Officer for Doodles in June 2022.
In anticipation of the film’s debut, a special soundtrack will be released under Doodles Records, a collaborative effort with Columbia Records. This soundtrack will be complemented by a series of music videos correlating with the album’s launch. Contributions from Lil Wayne and Leray will not only be musical but also extend to voicing the film’s characters—Lil Wayne as Captain Stoke and Leray as Deysi.
The film is scheduled to make its first appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, following the launch of the “Project Gray” campaign set to start in early summer. Reflecting on the journey to the film’s premiere, Doodles CEO Julian Holguin shared his insights in a series of tweets.
“Two years prior, we found ourselves negotiating with top-tier animation studios, envisioning our IP evolving into a worldwide entertainment powerhouse,” he commented. “Despite enticing offers after numerous discussions, we chose a different path.”
Holguin emphasized the importance of retaining creative autonomy, a principle that led Doodles NFT to bring Golden Wolf on board and spearhead the project in-house.
“Forego our autonomy for our vision?” he questioned. “That was never an option.”
Doodles NFTs
Initially launched as a collection of 10,000 NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain in 2021, Doodles has since amassed close to $650 million in trading volume, according to CryptoSlam. Following its success, the project expanded onto the Flow blockchain with Doodles 2, introducing features like avatar customization and immersive gaming and metaverse experiences.
