PechaKucha’s first NFT drop celebrates its 20-year history, relaunched storytelling platform, and the future of Web3 by showcasing the versatility and utility of NFTs as “digital art with benefits”
PechaKucha, Inc., a social storytelling platform used by millions worldwide, announced today that it has minted the world’s first story as an NFT. PechaKucha also will be minting 2,020 pieces of unique, limited-edition NFT collectables to celebrate PechaKucha’s 20-year history, 20-slides x 20-seconds storytelling format, and the launch of its new website, mobile apps and revitalized creator platform.

The PechaKucha NFT collection is created from artist-designed posters from thousands of in-person PK Night events spanning PechaKucha’s 20-year history. The NFTs feature 30 variations in color and eight icon poses that combine to create a range of rarities.
A pre-minting period began on July 26 with public sale starting on August 17. The PechaKucha NFTs will be sold for 0.09 ETH (Ethereum) and comes with a number of added benefits, including a one-year subscription of PK Pro, allowing users to build, share and monetize private communities and content. PechaKucha’s free version offers many of the same tools, including a new social audio feature, with the exception that content is only published publicly on pechakucha.com.

PechaKucha partnered with Ethereum for its first NFT project. The Ethereum network has been transforming into an eco-friendly proof of stake blockchain to drastically reduce power consumption. PechaKucha will be routing a part of all sales to offset 100% of the carbon emissions normally generated by the minting of NFTs.
